ZUK Z2 Rio Edition with 5-inch FHD display goes official

ZUK Z2 Rio Edition has been announced in China today, just in time for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. It comes with almost similar specifications as that of the normal ZUK Z2, which is launched back in May this year. Lets check out the exact specifications and features below.

The ZUK Z2 Rio Edition sports a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LTPS 2.5 curved glass display that comes with 500 nits of brightness, 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 100% NTSC color gamut. The display has a 1.41 mm narrow bezel on both sides. It is powered by a 2.15 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal memory (UFS 2.0), which cannot be expanded via microSD card slot. It runs on ZUI 2.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box.

On the camera front, the Z2 rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, ISOCELL sensor, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, CAF dual-mode focus and EIS. It has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.4 µm pixel size and 78.9-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM (nano) and comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack. The body is made up of a metal frame, which is 8.45 mm thick and weighs 149 grams. It comes with U-Touch 2.0 fingerprint sensor that has been embedded into the home button, which can unlock the phone in just 0.1 seconds and also promises an accuracy of 99.7%.

The ZUK Z2 comes with 4G with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB 2.0 Type C as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,500 mAh battery under the hood with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support and can charge the device from 0-80% in just 1 hour.

The ZUK Z2 Rio Edition is available in White and Black color variants. It has been priced at CNY 1599 (US $ / INR Rs approximately). It will go on sale in China starting from August 2, 2016.
