ZUK Z2 renders featuring a rotating camera spotted in the wild

Lenovo-backed startup ZUK launched the Z1 in China back in August. The company teamed up with Cyanogen to launch the International variant of ZUK Z1 running on Cyanogen OS 12.1 in October. Lenovo CEO has already stated that we will see the ZUK Z2 sometime in 2016 and renders of the device has already started appearing in the wild.

According to these rendered images, the ZUK Z2 will come with a rotating camera module. In the past, we have seen a lot of smartphones like the OPPO N1 and N3 feature a rotating camera but those rotated vertically only. However, here it can rotate horizontally. The entire top portion will rotate in the Z2 whereas only a portion of the top rotated in cases of OPPO N1 and N3. Also, we do not know if it will feature a motorized mechanism like the OPPO N3 or some other mechanism.

A rotating camera has its fair share of advantages and disadvantages as well. Selfies and video calling will be better since there will be a single primary camera but on the other hand the rotating module can break off if not handled with care. Also, the build quality of the Z2 seems far superior than Z1 and has slight curved edged like the  iPhone 6s/6s Plus. It will be mostly made up of metal and glass.

We do not have any other information about the specifications of the device yet but we will get them in the upcoming months. Do stay tuned for more news on the same.
