Commenting on the launch, Mr. Rahul Sharma, Founder, YU Televentures said,

“We commenced our exciting journey at YU a year ago with a promise of making technology more simplistic and the smartphones an enabler of our daily tasks. We are extremely euphoric to complete our first year with a bang as today’s launch reaffirms our promise of doing everything that’s exciting and new. YUTOPIA is a revolutionary product that is packed with the compelling ‘Around Yu’ services, making the smartphone literally five years ahead of any other device.

We realize that a user spends a lot of his time with his mobile device and at various times of the day he may be looking for entertainment (music, video content), shopping, food, travel etc. While doing that multiple apps need to be installed on the device and that leads a user to juggle between too much information. With Around YU, we have smartly integrated most of these functions and have done backend tie –ups with the best in class providers in the category. It took us almost a year to recognize the right partners, the right services and off course the technical integration into the product. We are announcing travel (local cabs, flights, hotels), food, shopping in the first phase and will add up more categories going forward. Currently our partners include Zomato, Ixigo, and Scandid.”

Kirt McMaster, CEO of Cyanogen Inc, said:

“Cyanogen is excited to continue our partnership with YU with the launch of YUTOPIA. We built Cyanogen OS to be a better Android, with thousands of enhancements beyond stock Android. We know that consumers will love YUTOPIA’s impressive combination of hardware and Cyanogen OS.”

Sunil Lalvani, president, Qualcomm India, said:

“Qualcomm Technologies congratulates YU on the launch of its top-of-the-line 4G smartphone, YUTOPIA, powered by the Snapdragon 810 processor. The Snapdragon 810 processor with 64-bit computing and an integrated Snapdragon X10 LTE modem, enables the ultimate smartphone experience for users, while maximizing battery life. Packed with advanced features including 4K Ultra HD video, enhanced camera functionalities, console quality 3D gaming, theatre quality surround sound and faster charging with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, YUTOPIA offers consumers an unprecedented combination of processing power, high performance graphics and seamless connectivity.”
