YU to launch YUTOPIA soon that is dubbed as “the most powerful phone on the planet”

YU is all set to unveil ‘YUTOPIA’ that is dubbed as “the most powerful phone on the planet”. The company has been teasing the device for quite a long time and has recently opened up registrations to know more about the device.

YU recently had launched YUNIQUE – “World’s Most Affordable 4G HD phone” back in September. In our review, we found out that it lives up to its tag and has redefined the budget smartphone, once again! Now, the company is looking forward to up the ante and launch “the most powerful phone on the planet”. Whether it lives up to the hype or not can be judged later but lets take a look at the rumoured specifications of YUTOPIA. Also, it will be made up of metal instead of “plastic or sandstone”, if you didn’t know by looking at the teaser already.

YU YUTOPIA Rumoured Specifications

The YU YUTOPIA is said to feature a 5.2-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD IPS display. It will be powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (Quad x 2.0 GHz + Quad x 1.5 GHz) 64 bit processor with Adreno 430 GPU. It will have 4 GB of RAM and come with 32 GB of internal memory. It will supposedly run on Cyanogen OS 12.1 out of the box that’s based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The YUTOPIA will rock a 21 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. On the front, we will get a 8 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.

The YUTOPIA will come with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS as connectivity options. There is no information on the battery capacity and Dual SIM support yet.

YU Televentures would be launching the “the most powerful phone on the planet” before Diwali to capitalize on the festive season. So our bet is that the smartphone will be launched by the end of October of first week of November. Also, expect it to be priced around Rs 25,000 to compete with the likes of OnePlus 2 and other “flagship devices” in that range. We will have more information on the device soon.
