YotaPhone 2 has been launched in China. Yota Devices has partnered with Chinese company JieLan, who will take care of the promotion, sales and support of the device.
YotaPhone 2 has been priced at CNY 4888 (US $788) in China and sales are underway. However, the website is still showing pre-order. The Chinese variant comes with local 4G LTE bands along with Weibo and WeChat apps being pre-loaded. The device went on sale in London in December last year.
YotaPhone 2 Specifications
The YotaPhone 2 features a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED multi-touch main display and 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) EPD (Electronic Paper Display) full touch rear screen. It is powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and hopefully will be upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the near future.
The YotaPhone 2 comes with a 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash, which can shoot 1080p Full HD videos. On the front, it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 140 grams.
The YotaPhone 2 includes 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n dual band, Bluetooth 4.0, a-GPS/GPS, GLONASS as connectivity options. The dual-screen smartphone packs in a 2,550 mAh battery under the hood which supports wireless charging. The Electronic Paper Display screen offers up to 50 hours of battery life when using the always-on display, according to Yota Devices.
