YotaPhone 2 was announced back in MWC this year but never really went on sale. Yota Devices launched the first generation YotaPhone in India a month back for Rs 23,499 exclusively on Flipkart. The company will hold a launch event on December 3 in London and its an invite-only event.
The YotaPhone 2 features a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED multi-touch main display and 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) EPD (Electronic Paper Display) full touch rear screen. It is powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and hopefully will be upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the near future.
The YotaPhone 2 comes with a 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash, which can shoot 1080p Full HD videos. On the front, it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 140 grams.
The YotaPhone 2 includes 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n dual band, Bluetooth 4.0, a-GPS/GPS, GLONASS as connectivity options. The dual-screen smartphone packs in a 2,550 mAh battery under the hood which supports wireless charging.
The Electronic Paper Display screen offers up to 50 hours of battery life when using the always-on display, according to Yota Devices. The smartphone comes in White and Black colour variants and we will get to know about the pricing and availability on December 3 in the invite-only launch event which will take place in London.
