Xiaomi is about to launch two new flagship devices today at an event in China. We do not have clear picture on what they will be called but we are guessing it will be the Xiaomi Note and Xiaomi Mi4S. The company could also surprise us with a completely different name altogether. Recently, they have unveiled the Redmi 2 in China.
Xiaomi has an event today where the company will be launching more than one flagship devices. According to the new teaser released by the company, it will certainly feature an updated version of the Redmi Note 4G.
The new ‘NOTE’ will be called Xiaomi Note according to rumours, instead of the Redmi Note. So, this will take it from an affordable budget phablet to a new flagship phablet which can compete with the likes of iPhone 6 Plus and Galaxy Note 4.
Xiaomi Note Specifications
According to various analysts, the Xiaomi Note will feature a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with 2.5D glass, that curves at the edges. The phablet’s back will be made out of glass as well, which will make it the ‘world’s first curved glass body’. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC. It will come with 3 GB of RAM as well with 16/32 GB of internal storage.
On the camera front, it will have a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone dual LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The Xiaomi Note will have a 3,600 mAh battery under the hood which will run on MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat. It will soon be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop. It will have 4G LTE and other connectivity options.
The all new Xiaomi Note might be priced at 4,000 Chinese Yuan (USD 645 approximately) which will make it the most expensive Xiaomi device. The company is about to get rid of the “affordability” tag or not remains to be seen.
Xiaomi would also be launching another device which could be called the Xiaomi Mi4s which will be an upgrade from the Mi4. It might be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC which was seen in the recently announced LG G Flex 2 at CES 2015. The other specifications should be similar to the original Mi4.
