Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with Snapdragon 650 chipset was announced in China in January this year. It was then launched in India on March 3 and went on flash sale starting from March 9. It also went on couple of open sales. Today, Hugo Barra, VP of Xiaomi, took to social networks and announced that Mi India has sold over 6 lakhs (0.6 million) units of Redmi Note 3 in just 60 days. He said, “We just reached another milestone at Mi India—in just 60 days of weekly sales, we have sold over 6 lakhs units of Redmi Note 3—our biggest record yet—all thanks to you. I cannot thank you enough for the overwhelming and continuous support. You guys are total rock stars! 😎 🇮🇳”

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD fully laminated display. The phablet comes with sunlight display technology which improves screen readability using hardware-level technology to adjust contrast for each pixel in real-time. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 (Quad 1.2 GHz ARM A53 + 2 x 1.8 GHz ARM A57) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 510 GPU. It packs in 2 / 3 GB of RAM along with 16 / 32 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop OS. Now, MIUI supports 13 Indian languages. It comes with a full metal industrial design.
The Redmi Note 3 rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture. It can shoot 1080p Full HD videos and 120fps slow-motion videos. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. The front shooter can also capture Full HD 1080p videos. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano / microSD card) with dual standby mode. It has a fingerprint sensor below the primary camera that unlocks in 0.3 seconds and comes with Trustonic TEE chip-level security. It is just 8.65 mm thick (at the thickest point) and weighs just 164 grams, in spite of a larger battery. It also has an Infrared sensor.
On the connectivity front, the Note 3 comes with 4G LTE (Indian band: 3, 5, 40, 41) with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS and USB OTG. The phablet packs in a whopping 4,000 mAh non-removable battery under the hood that supports fast charging. It charges from 0-50% in 1 hour flat and full charge in 3 hours.
