Xiaomi Redmi Pro (3GB RAM + 32GB ROM) goes on pre-order globally including USA

At the end of July, Xiaomi had announced the latest flagship device in the Redmi series named the Xiaomi Redmi Pro. As usual like all other Xiaomi products, it went on sale only in China officially. However, now you can place order for the Redmi Pro (3GB RAM + 32GB ROM) globally, since Gearbest has listed the item and it is now on pre-sale. Lets check out the pricing and availability of the flagship phablet below.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro goes global via Gearbest

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is currently available in Silver and Gray color variants and you can pre-order it from Gearbest for US $299.99 (INR Rs 20,038 approximately). The phablet will start getting shipped from October 12, which is around two months from now and that is quite a bummer.

If we compare the official China price (CNY 1499 (US $226 / INR Rs 15,079 approximately) of the standard Redmi Pro variant (2.1GHz Helio X20 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM) to the Gearbest pre-sale pricing, you have to pay a premium of around $75. It does look a bit on the higher side but we do need to consider in certain factors:

  • Xiaomi will not officially launch these devices in most countries, like forever!
  • The competition is very tough in China and hence products are aggressively priced, so these pricing will not be same for all the markets
  • Standard shipping charges are included in the pricing.
  • Xiaomi fanboys exist globally and hence third-party resellers are selling and shipping Xiaomi products worldwide

The e-commerce portal from China delivers in most countries with free shipping. However, you could also expedite the shipping by paying nominal charges and get it within 3-7 business days. Lets have a look at the specifications and features of the device.
