Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has been officially announced at an event in China today. It is the successor of the popular Redmi Note 3. Lets check out the specifications, features, pricing and availability of the latest budget phablet from Xiaomi below.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 rocks a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, that has up to 72% NTSC color gamut and 1000:1 contrast ratio. The phablet comes with sunlight display technology which improves screen readability using hardware-level technology to adjust contrast for each pixel in real-time. It is powered by a 2.1 GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 64-bit processor along with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It packs in 2 / 3 GB of RAM along with 16 / 64 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It comes with a brushed metal body along with chamfered edges.
The Redmi Note 4 rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture. It can shoot 1080p Full HD videos and 120fps slow-motion videos. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. The front shooter can also capture Full HD 1080p videos. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano / microSD card) with dual standby mode. It has a fingerprint sensor below the primary camera, that also supports Mi Pay and Alipay. It is just 8.35 mm thick and weighs 175 grams. It also has an Infrared sensor, just like its predecessor.
On the connectivity front, the Note 4 comes with 4G with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS and USB Type-C. The phablet packs in a whopping 4,100 mAh (non-removable) battery under the hood that supports fast charging. It charges from 0-50% in 1 hour flat and full charge in 3 hours.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is available in Gray, Silver and Gold color variants. It has been priced at CNY 899 (US $135 / INR Rs 9,060 approximately) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM variant whereas the 3GB RAM + 64GB ROM model costs CNY 1199 (US $180 / INR Rs 12,082 approximately). It will go on sale in China starting from August 26, 2016 via Mi online store, China Mobile and other online retailers. There is no information about its global launch yet.
