Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with Snapdragon 650 launched in India, price starts at Rs 9999

Mi India has finally launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in India at an event in Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, as expected. It is a higher-end variant of the original Redmi Note 3 that was announced in China last month. Lets check out the specifications of the device.


Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD fully laminated display. The phablet comes with sunlight display technology which improves screen readability using hardware-level technology to adjust contrast for each pixel in real-time. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 (Quad 1.2 GHz ARM A53 + 2 x 1.8 GHz ARM A57) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 510 GPU. It packs in 2 / 3 GB of RAM along with 16 / 32 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop OS. Now, MIUI supports 13 Indian languages. It comes with a full metal industrial design.

The Redmi Note 3 rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture. It can shoot 1080p Full HD videos and 120fps slow-motion videos. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. The front shooter can also capture Full HD 1080p videos. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano / microSD card) with dual standby mode. It has a fingerprint sensor below the primary camera that unlocks in 0.3 seconds and comes with Trustonic TEE chip-level security. It is just 8.65 mm thick (at the thickest point) and weighs just 164 grams, in spite of a larger battery. It also has an Infrared sensor.


On the connectivity front, the Note 3 comes with 4G LTE (Indian band: 3, 5, 40, 41) with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS and USB OTG. The phablet packs in a whopping 4,000 mAh non-removable battery under the hood that supports fast charging. It charges from 0-50% in 1 hour flat and full charge in 3 hours.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is available in Champagne Gold, Silver and Dark Grey color variants. It has been priced at Rs 9,999 for the 2 GB RAM + 16 GB ROM variant whereas the 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM version can be purchased for Rs 11,999. The first flash sale will take place on March 9 at 2 PM on and Amazon India. It will also go on sale via Flipkart, Snapdeal and offline retailers sometime later. It is also the third ‘Made in India’ Xiaomi product after Redmi 2 Prime and Redmi Note Prime.
