Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with all metal body, 4000mAh battery, fingerprint scanner now official

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has been officially launched at an event at the China National Convention Center. It was confirmed yesterday by the company as well. Lets take a closer look at the specifications, features and the whopping battery in a slim all metal body.


Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD fully laminated display. The phablet comes with sunlight display technology which improves screen readability using hardware-level technology to adjust contrast for each pixel in real-time. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit processor along with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It packs in 2 / 3 GB of RAM along with 16 / 32 GB of internal storage. The device runs on MIUI 7 based on Android OS. It comes with a full metal industrial design.


The Redmi Note 3 rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with two-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), f/2.2 aperture. It can shoot 1080p Full HD videos and 120fps slow-motion videos. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. The front shooter can also capture Full HD 1080p videos. It supports dual SIM feature with dual standby mode. It has a fingerprint sensor below the primary camera that unlocks in 0.3 seconds and comes with Trustonic TEE chip-level security. It is just 8.65 mm thick (at the thickest point) and weighs just 164 grams, in spite of a larger battery.

On the connectivity front, the Note 3 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS and USB OTG. The phablet packs in a whopping 4,000 mAh non-removable battery under the hood that supports fast charging. It charges from 0-50% in 1 hour flat.


The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is available in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey color variants. It has been priced at CNY 899 (US $141 / INR Rs 9,343 approximately) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM combination and the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM costs CNY 1099 (US $172 / INR Rs 11,422 approximately) in China. It will start selling from November 27.

Xiaomi has also launched the Mi Pad 2 and the Air Purifier 2.
