Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has been certified on TENAA in China. It is high time that the Redmi Note gets a successor and looks like it will be launched soon. Also, Xiaomi is holding an event in China on July 16, where we might see the Redmi Note 2 being announced. Lets look at the rumoured specifications.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will feature a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor along with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It will come with 2 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD slot. The device will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box with MIUI 6 on top of it.
On the camera front, it will rock a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It will be 8.05 mm thick and weigh 158.62 grams.
On the connectivity front, it will come with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and GPS. The phablet will reportedly pack in a 3,020 mAh battery under the hood with fast charging capabilities. It is expected to come in black, white, red, orange, yellow and green colour variants.
We might see the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 being launched on July 16 or the company could surprise with the early launch of Xiaomi Mi 5 / Mi 5 Plus, which was also spotted on TENAA.
