Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro with metal body and fingerprint sensor spotted in China

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is the upcoming device from “Apple of China” and it has been certified by TENAA. The specifications of the device are similar to the Redmi Note 2 but it comes with a fingerprint scanner and an all metal body.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro Rumoured Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to feature a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display that will be powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit processor along with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It will pack in 2 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage. The device should run on MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop or later.

The Redmi Note 2 Pro will rock the same 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Samsung / OmniVision Sensor, 5p lens, f/2.2 aperture and 78-degree wide-angle lens found on the Redmi Note 2. The rear camera has Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) technology that allows it to focus on a subject within 0.1 seconds. It will come with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with OmniVision sensor, 1.4 micron pixel for selfies and video calling. It will support dual SIM feature with dual standby mode. It will have a fingerprint scanner below the primary camera as shown in the images.

On the connectivity front, the Note 2 Pro will come with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS and USB OTG. The phablet will pack in a 3,060 mAh non-removable battery under the hood.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to be priced around CNY 1099 (US $172 / INR Rs 11,408 approximately) in China. However, the important question is that will Xiaomi bring this device to India or not? It could be a handy competitor to the likes of Coolpad Note 3. The Redmi Note 2 Pro will be on the higher side of the Rs 10,000 segment but will be a worthy purchase, if Xiaomi brings it to India.
