Xiaomi Redmi 4A has been officially launched in India at an event in Delhi today. It is the latest low-end budget smartphone in the Redmi series. The Redmi 4A was unveiled in China back in November last year. The company has also announced that they have started their second manufacturing plant in the country and has revealed that they are producing ‘one phone per second’ in India. Xiaomi Redmi 4A Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a 5.0-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, that has a pixel density of 294 PPI and a screen-to-body ratio of 70.2%. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 (MSM8917) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 308 GPU. It comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It has a unibody design with metal matte finish but does not have a full metal body.
The Redmi 4A rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), that can record Full HD 1080p videos. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for clicking selfies and making video calls. It can also shoot 1080p Full HD videos. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano / microSD card), comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. It is 8.5mm thick and weighs 131.5 grams. It features an Infrared sensor but the fingerprint sensor is missing.
In the connectivity department, the Redmi 4A includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, GLONASS and USB OTG. The smartphone packs in a 3120mAh battery under the hood but does not support fast charging.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is available in Gold, Gray and Rose Gold color variants. It has been priced at Rs. 5,999 and will go on sale exclusively on Amazon India starting from March 23, 2017. However, if you want the Rose Gold color, you will have to wait till April 6.
