Reports: Xiaomi Redmi 3s to launch in India soon

According to a report from FoneArena, Mi India will be launching the Xiaomi Redmi 3s in India soon. The budget smartphone was announced in China last month (July). The company has also launched the Xiaomi Mi Max in India recently.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3s features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (Quad 1.5 GHz A53 + Quad 1.2 GHz A53) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 505 GPU. It packs in 2 / 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM along with 16 / 32 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 7 based on Android OS. It comes with a full metal magnesium alloy unibody design.

The Redmi 3s rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), f/2.0 aperture. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. Both the cameras can shoot 1080p Full HD videos. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano/microSD) feature, where the second SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot and comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack. It has a full metal magnesium alloy body, which is 8.5 mm thick and weighs 144 grams. It packs in a fingerprint sensor at the back as well.

On the connectivity front, the Redmi 3s comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS and USB OTG. The smartphone packs in a massive 4,100 mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3s is available in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey color variants. It has been priced at CNY 699 (US $105 / INR Rs 7,034 approximately) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM variant and CNY 899 (US $135 / INR Rs 9,047 approximately) for the 3GB RAM + 32 GB ROM model.
