Xiaomi Redmi 3 has been officially announced in China today. It is the latest budget smartphone from the company but comes with an all metal body and a massive 4100mAh battery with fast charging support. Lets take a look at the rest of the specifications of the smartphone.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 (Quad 1.5 GHz + Quad 1.2 GHz) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It packs in 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop OS. It comes with a full metal magnesium alloy unibody design. The back side has a diamond pattern made out of 4166 stars and it becomes visible when the light hits at an angle.
The Redmi 3 rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), f/2.0 aperture. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. Both the cameras can shoot 1080p Full HD videos. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano) feature where the second SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot. It is 8.5 mm thick and weighs 144 grams.
On the connectivity front, the Redmi 3 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS and USB OTG. The smartphone packs in a massive 4,100 mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 is available in Gold, Classic Gold, Silver and Dark Grey color variants and has been priced at CNY 699 (US $107 / INR Rs 7,140 approximately). It goes on sale in China starting from tomorrow (January 12) and will hopefully be launched globally in the near future as well. It has a good chance of coming to India soon, as it is powered by a Snapdragon chipset.
