Xiaomi to hold a launch event of Redmi Note for media tomorrow (November 24) in New Delhi. Do not get confused. Redmi Note won’t go on sale tomorrow.
We take pride in telling our viewers that Redmi Note will go on sale on December 2, as reported by us earlier. We have been accused by few bloggers of ‘cooking up’ stories about the alleged date. We did not cook up anything. If you had some analytical skills, you could have also come up with the date. Never mind.
In a latest Facebook post by Xiaomi Global’s President, Mr. Hugo Barra, Xiaomi has ‘one more surprise’ for the Indian fans. We do not exactly know about this surprise but hey we can take a guess. If Xiaomi is about to release a new hardware in India, it has to be the Xiaomi MiBand. If it is related to software, then it would be the stable release of MIUI 6.
It can also be related to services where you can finally buy themes and softwares from Xiaomi. Or simply, it might be the customary Rs 1,000 drop in price of the Redmi Note. The phablet was priced at Rs 9,999 during the announcement but as both Mi 3 and Redmi 1s saw Rs 1,000 price drop just before launch, so the final price of Redmi Note might be Rs 8,999. We won’t be much surprised if that’s the case. We are quite accustomed to it by now. Whatever it is, we will get to know it tomorrow and we hope it’s a good one.
Xiaomi Redmi Note is a budget phablet from the Chinese manufacturer. It has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LED IPS Display with 267 ppi. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 covering. The phablet is powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core MTK MT6592 processor and has Mali 450 GPU. Redmi Note weighs 199 grams and is 9.45 mm in thickness.
Redmi Note comes with 2 GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. It will come preloaded with Android 4.3 JellyBean with MIUI v5 on top and will be upgraded to MIUI 6 along with Android Lollipop in the future, hopefully.
On the camera front, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calling. The rear camera has f/2.2 aperture lens and can record 1080P videos. Xiaomi Redmi Note comes with 3,100 mAh lithium polymer removable battery under the hood. It is a dual SIM phablet with only one SIM supporting 3G. The Xiaomi Redmi Note includes 3G (WCDMA)/2G (GSM), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS + AGPS as connectivity options.
So, Redmi Note will go on sale on December 2 on Flipkart at 2pm and Redmi 1s would likely go on sale for the last time on November 25. Registrations for the first sale of Redmi Note on December 2 will should start after 6pm on November 25.
If you are looking forward to Xiaomi Mi 4, it won’t be launching before January, 2015.
