Xiaomi announced the MIUI 7 back in August with the launch of Redmi Note 2. The company then announced the MIUI 7 Global ROM at an event in Delhi after a week. The beta version of the MIUI 7 Global ROM started rolling out from August 24.
Xiaomi has announced that the MIUI 7 global stable version will start rolling out from October 27, 2015. The Chinese version of the same will also start rolling out on that day. The company has said that Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Pad, Mi Note, Redmi 1s 3G, Redmi Note 4G and Redmi 2/ Prime will get the stable version of MIUI 7 update on October 27. Xiaomi is working very had to support other devices as soon as possible.
MIUI 7 Global ROM: Features
There is a MUSE Theme creation tool that will let designers create themes without the need of any programming. MIUI 7 will come with International wallpaper market, which will come with 10 pre-set HD wallpapers on Daily Lock screen rotation. It is currently only available in India.
Every new software promises to be faster and more stable. MIUI 7 is no different as it promises faster system response time and animation by about 30%, when compared to MIUI 6. It has optimized CPU scheduling mechanism, strict background power management which will let an app to wake up only when it’s needed and also limit the unnecessary use of WiFi, data network or location services in the background. This helps in improving battery life for daily use by almost 10%.
There are a set of new large fonts including standard, medium, large, extra-large, jumbo which come with individually tailored dialog layout, text spacing and line spacing, word wrap process and more. There is a new feature in the gallery app which is known as Face recognition technology. It automatically identifies and organizes photos of babies and pets as a collection, which can be shared easily. A new kids mode has been introduced which will let you hide all your personal information and desktop layouts.There is a My business card feature which lets the user add their image or a five second video (ShowTime), that will show up on their friend’s screen, when they call.
Now, we can skip annoying voice prompts via Interactive Visual Response (IVR). It is available for banking, booking air tickets and more from 50 Indian partners including Citibank, ICICI bank, Spicejet, Indigo, Tata Sky, HeroMotoCorp and more.
Xiaomi has partnered with Opera Max to provide Data Saver. The app compresses browser and in-app media, that will let you save up to 50% of data usage. It will roll out in September 2015 in China, India, Brasil, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines.
