Xiaomi had an event scheduled yesterday in China and everyone thought they would be launching the Redmi Note 2 or Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus, including us. However, the company has announced three different products which does not involve any smartphone. The first one we would talk about is the Xiaomi Mi TV 2s 48-inch Smart TV.
Xiaomi has announced a new Mi TV 2s which has a 48-inch 4K display and is just 9.9mm thick. The company launched the 55-inch Mi TV 2 few months backs. Lets take a look at the specifications and features in detail. They also have a 40-inch 1080p Mi TV 2.
Xiaomi Mi TV 2s 48-inch Smart TV Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi TV 2s has a 48-inch 4K LCD display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and 178-degree viewing angle, 8ms dynamic response and 4000:1 contrast ratio. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core MStar 6A928 Cortex-A17 processor with Mali 760 MP4 GPU. It comes with 2GB triple-channel DDR3 RAM along with 8GB eMMC 5.0 flash internal storage. It runs on MIUI TV based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 2s comes with Dolby MS12, virtual surround sound. It has a 9.9mm thick aluminium alloy frame which is absolutely slick and it comes in green, silver, blue, pink and gold angle. The TV comes with a Full format player which decodes videos with H.265 1080p at 60 fps, H.264, S.263, MPEG4, Real, AFS, etc. It also supports mainstream video formats such as RM, FLV, MOV, AVI, MKV, TS, MP4 and more. It has 2.25-inch full-range stereo speakers with acoustic wavelength technology. The theatre edition comes with 80W wireless subwoofer which has an aluminium build and 8 speakers sound bar.
On the connectivity front, the Mi TV 2s comes with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 3 x HDMI 3.0 VGA, AV, Analog TV, 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0 and Ethernet port.
The latest Xiaomi Mi TV 2s has been priced at CNY 2999 (US $483 / INR Rs 30,600 approximately). However, you can also opt for the Theatre edition with woofer and speakers for CNY 3999 (US $644 / INR Rs 40,850 approximately). The TV goes on sale in China from July 28 and it will not be sold globally anytime soon.
