Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 has been officially announced in China, as expected. It is the successor of the original Mi Pad and also Xiaomi’s first Intel-based device. Lets check out the complete specifications, features and price of the tablet.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 features a 7.9-inch (2048 x 1536 pixels) IPS display that has a pixel density of 326 ppi, similar to the original Mi Pad. It is powered by a 2.24 GHz quad-core Intel Atom X5-Z8005 64-bit processor. The tablet has 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16 / 64 GB of internal storage. It runs on MIUI 7 based on Android OS or Windows 10. It has additional features color and color temperature enhancement, reading mode, smart button deactivation (when holding both sides of tablet) and more.
On the camera front, the Mi Pad 2 has a 8 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture that can shoot Full HD 1080p videos. It also has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 75-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It features a full metal build that is just 6.95 mm thick and weighs 322 grams.
The Mi Pad 2 comes with WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac Dual Band (2×2 MIMO), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB Type-C port as connectivity options. The tablet has a 6,190 mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging (5V / 2A).
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is available in Champagne Gold and Dark Grey color variants. It costs CNY 999 (US $156 / INR Rs 10,390 approximately) for 16GB variant and the 64GB model will cost CNY 1299 (US $203 / INR Rs 13,510 approximately) in China. It will go on sale starting from November 27. According to the company, the Windows 10 variant with 64GB of internal storage will be available starting late December.
Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi Note 3 and the Air Purifier 2.
