Xiaomi Mi Note Pro receives 1 million registrations for first sale on May 12

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro was re-launched in China which also received a price cut of CNY 300. It is now priced at CNY 2,999 and will go on sale for the first time tomorrow (May 12).



According to the MIUI forum, more than 1 million customers have registered for the first sale of Mi Note Pro taking place on May 12. Pre-orders started on May 6. Also, for the first time there will be simultaneous sales in 19 Mi Homes around China from 9:30 AM tomorrow. Both online and offline sales on same day is a first for Xiaomi.

Xiaomi will allow every customer to purchase only one unit in order to ensure sufficient stock at Mi Homes for every consumer. No booking allowed as well. You can also purchase an accident damage insurance for CNY 199 on spot. Customers showing proof of purchase also stand a chance to win mysterious gifts. Xiaomi is also giving away some “Are You OK?” t-shirts to some lucky winners.

The Chinese manufacturer claims to have solved the heating issue of Snapdragon 810 processor by applying 5 heat conductivity patents. There are 4 graphite cooling fins being used, out of which one of them is double-layered. According to the company, after 20 minutes of gameplay, the temperature on the back of the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is 36.3 degree celsius.


Many customers have already started to queue up before the Mi Homes to purchase the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. This kind of crazy demand was only seen with the launch of iPhones before. There is no information on the number of units available for the first sale but it is expected to be more than usual.

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro features a 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) 2K display with 2.5D glass, that curves at the edges. The phablet’s back is made out of 3D curved glass as well, which makes it the ‘world’s first curved glass body’. This curved glass makes it highly resistant to scratches and shattering. The display is protected by curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with 0.3 mm bezel. It produces 95% NTSC colour gamut and has a NEGA negative LCD panel with 1400:1 contrast ratio. It also has adaptive dynamic contrast and blue light-reducing mode, which reduces eye fatigue.

The Mi Note is powered by a 2.5 GHz 64-bit Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU. It comes with 4 GB of RAM as well with 64 GB  eMMC 5.0 internal flash storage which cannot be expanded. The phablet run on MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat. It will soon be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

On the camera front, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Philips dual-tone dual LED flash. It has second generation Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor with f/2.0 aperture, six-element lens along with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). On the front, a 4-megapixel front-facing camera with large two-micron pixels for selfies and video calling. It has Dual SIM connectivity with 4G LTE on both SIM with dual standby mode.

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro comes with a 3,000 mAh Sony/LG lithium-ion battery under the hood with quick charge 2.0 technology for fast charging. The phablet weighs 161 grams and is just 6.95 mm thick. The dimensions of Xiaomi Mi Note are 155.1 x 77.6 x 6.95 mm.

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is available in white and has been priced at CNY 2,999 (US $483 / INR Rs 30,750 approximately).
