Xiaomi Mi Max with 6.44-inch display launching in India on June 30

Mi India is gearing up to launch the Xiaomi Mi Max in the country on June 30 at an event in Delhi. The massive phablet which comes with a 6.44-inch display was unveiled in China back in May. Lets have a look at the specifications, features and potential Indian pricing of the device below.

Xiaomi Mi Max Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi Max features a 6.44-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS 2.5D curved display. The phablet comes with sunlight display technology which improves screen readability using hardware-level technology to adjust contrast for each pixel in real-time. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 / octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 64-bit processor along with Adreno 510 GPU. It packs in 3 GB of RAM along with 32 / 64 GB of internal storage or 4 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

The Mi Max rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture. It can shoot 1080p Full HD videos and 120fps slow-motion videos. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. The front shooter can also capture Full HD 1080p videos. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano / microSD card) with dual standby mode. It has a fingerprint sensor below the primary camera that unlocks in 0.3 seconds and comes with Trustonic TEE chip-level security. It has a full metal unibody design that is just 7.5 mm thick and weighs just 203 grams. It also has an Infrared sensor.

On the connectivity front, the Mi Max comes with 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP, GPS, GLONASS and USB OTG. The phablet packs in a whopping 4,850 mAh non-removable battery under the hood.

The Xiaomi Mi Max will be available in Light Grey, Silver and Gold color variants. It comes in three different variants in China – 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM + Snapdragon 650 chipset has been priced at CNY 1499, 3GB RAM + 64GB ROM + Snapdragon 652 chipset costs CNY 1699 and finally the Pro variant with 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM + Snapdragon 652 chipset has been priced at CNY 1999. We are expecting Mi India to launch the base variant, priced around Rs 15,000.
