Xiaomi thrives on social media presence for making their devices successful and also save millions of marketing budget, which they pass on to the consumers by pricing the devices relatively cheaper than their competitors. When Xiaomi was about to enter India, they started their facebook page called Mi India which also saw the rise of tit-bit Xiaomi India fan pages and facebook groups. Xiaomi has had a superb time in India selling 55,000 Mi 3 so far creating few records along the way via their Flash sale model through Flipkart. Along with the flourish of Xiaomi, a facebook group has caught our attention who are also on the rise. They might not match unto Xiaomi’s phenomenon growth but they have done a superb job for the Xiaomi fans specially in India.
Xiaomi Mi India is the name of the group which was started by Dharani Venkatesan, Tushar Khatri, Devansh Arora, Skanda Bhargav, Akshay Arvind Prabhugaonkar and Jaspreet Singh in pursuit of helping budding Xiaomi fans in India. They are Xiaomi enthusiasts from a long time and have fair experience with MIUI. With the launch of the Facebook group, they started adding a few members who are associated with similar Facebook group in Malaysia which helped them set up a doc for “Do’s and Dont’s after buying a Xiaomi Mi 3.” This initiative differentiated the group from any random Xiaomi India Fan group.
With time, Xiaomi Mi India has become the most active group on Facebook with 3,283 members as of now. If you’re a Xiaomi fan from India and you’re active on Facebook as well but not present in this group, then you’re doing something wrong in your life. Even, Xiaomi’s Vice President Mr. Hugo Barra is a member of this group and this is the only Indian Xiaomi fan group he uses to collect feedback.
Xiaomi Mi India is not limited to being a Facebook group. They have also started a website on July 30, called XiaomiDev specifically to cater to the demands of Xiaomi fans in India. On XiaomiDev, a normal Xiaomi user can come across tutorials on Xiaomi devices, how to root a Xiaomi device, install developer ROM, enhance MIUI experience by installing themes, etc. You just name something, they have it covered. With a good design the site has become quite popular in a short span of time.
With the launch of MIUI 6, the objective of the group is to double its member size in the upcoming weeks along with creating new content on MIUI 6, Xiaomi Mi India is blazing guns much like Xiaomi selling the Mi 3 under 2 seconds.
