Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse comes with heart rate sensor for USD 16

Xiaomi launched the original Mi Band back in July last year in China which came to India in April this year. It is one of the highest sold wearable device in the industry and is famous for its battery life. The company has now announced its successor – the Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse and it comes with a heart rate sensor.

The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse is probably the cheapest wearable to include a heart rate sensor or photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor that will measure heartbeats. Most of the features remain the same but the battery life takes a little hit. Lets check out the features.

Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse Features

The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse is a fitness band and sleep tracker which monitors daily fitness level. It will measure your activity levels, track walking distance and calculate calories burned. As we know, it comes with a photoplethysmography (PPG) / heart rate sensor that gives out detailed heart rate measurement easily.

The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse will wake you up with its smart vibration alarm feature that goes off gently 30 minutes, before the time you set the alarm. Thus, it will help you wake up gradually which will make you forget the hated snooze button.

The Mi Band Pulse syncs with the app to analyze fitness and sleep activities which in turn will help improve your lifestyle. It connects with most Android smartphones and iOS devices via Bluetooth 4.0 low energy (LE). The band also unlocks your phone. You can just unlock your phone by swiping the band without the need of passwords. The fitness tracker also doubles up as call alert. The band notifies about incoming calls and if a call is not picked up within a certain time, it notifies you.

The Mi Band Pulse is made up of 1mm thick aluminium alloy core surface using a 12-step process and weighs only 5.5 grams. It comes with a hypoallergenic band which is suitable for sensitive skin. The band has military grade exercise sensor, premium quality bluetooth chip and 45 mAh ultra-thin Li-po battery which lasts around 20 days on standby mode with one full charge. It is also IP67 certified and hence water-resistant.

The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse has been priced at CNY 99 (US $15.59 / INR Rs 1,030 approximately) and will go on sale in China starting from November 11. The company has also reduced the price of the original Mi Band to CNY 69 from CNY 79 (launch price).
