Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi Band 2 along with the Mi Air Purifier 2 in India today. It was announced in China back in June this year. Lets check out the features of the latest fitness and sleep tracker from the house of Xiaomi that has made its way to the country.
Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Features and Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is a fitness band and sleep tracker that features a 0.42-inch OLED display, that comes with scratch-resistant glass and the anti-fingerprint coating will help in seeing time, step and heart rate. It will measure your activity levels, track walking distance and calculate calories burned. As we know, it comes with a photoplethysmography (PPG) / heart rate sensor that gives out detailed heart rate measurement easily.
According to Xiaomi, the pedometer algorithm has been updated for more accurate heart rate tracking and providing precise data. There is a new wristband design, that is more skin-friendly and will not slip out of a user’s hand easily. In case the consumer has a habit of sitting in a place for a long time, they can set customized alerts to nudge themselves to move.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 will wake you up with its smart vibration alarm feature that goes off gently 30 minutes, before the time you set the alarm. Thus, it will help you wake up gradually which will make you forget the hated snooze button.
The Mi Band 2 syncs with the app to analyze fitness and sleep activities which in turn will help improve your lifestyle. It connects with most Android smartphones and iOS devices via Bluetooth 4.0 low energy (LE). The band also unlocks your phone. You can just unlock your phone by swiping the band without the need of passwords. The fitness tracker also doubles up as call alert. The band notifies about incoming calls and if a call is not picked up within a certain time, it notifies you.
The Mi Band 2 is made up of 1mm thick aluminium alloy core surface using a 12-step process and weighs only 7 grams. It comes with a hypoallergenic band which is suitable for sensitive skin. The band has military grade exercise sensor, premium quality bluetooth chip and a 70 mAh ultra-thin Li-po battery which lasts around 20 days on standby mode with one full charge. It is also IP67 certified and hence water-resistant.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 has been priced at Rs 1,999 in India and it will go on sale via Mi.com from September 27 (12 PM) and via Amazon India from September 30 (midnight). The company has also launched the Mi Air Purifier 2 for Rs 9,999, which will go on sale from September 26 (12 PM) via Mi.com.
