Xiaomi Mi 5 has been officially launched in India today at a special event in New Delhi, as expected. The variant launched here comes with Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. Lets check out the other specifications in detail.
Xiaomi Mi 5 Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 5.15-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LCD display with 2.5D curved protection. It has a brightness of 600 nits and comes with a NTSC color gamut of 95%. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs in 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with 32 GB of internal storage (UFS 2.0), which cannot be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Marshmallow OS. It comes with a 3D glass body with strong glass on the back side.
The Mi 5 rock a 16 megapixel rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), 4-axis OIS. It can shoot 4K videos, comes with DTI pixel isolation technology and Spectra image processing. It comes with a 4 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It support Dual SIM (nano), comes with a fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. It is 7.25 mm thick, weighs 129 grams for the glass variant and 139 grams for the ceramic variant.
On the connectivity front, the Mi 5 comes with 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C and USB OTG. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh built-in non-removable battery under the hood that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. A 5 minute quick charge will offer up to 2.5 hours of talk time.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is available in White, Black and Gold color variants and has been priced at Rs 24,999 in India for the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant. The flagship smartphone’s pilot flash sale will take place on April 6 on Mi.com and the Mi Protect insurance will cost Rs 499. Other e-commerce platforms will be added later.
Mi India did not launch the other two variants of the device now, they might be launched sometime later but it looks difficult for now.
