Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro ceramic back edition with 4GB RAM, 128GB ROM goes on sale on April 6 in China

Xiaomi Mi 5 was officially introduced at an event in China last month and was also showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Three variants of Mi 5 were launched, however, only couple of them are selling in China now. Now, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro ceramic back edition with 4GB RAM, 128GB ROM and 2.15 GHz Snapdragon 820 processor will go on sale in China on April 6, 2016. It has been priced at CNY 2699 (US $415 / INR Rs 27,744 approximately). In order to purchase the Mi 5 globally, you can pre-order it on Gearbest. The Pro variant should be up for pre-order as well, once it hits the Chinese market.


Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro features a 5.15-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LCD display with 2.5D curved protection. It has a brightness of 600 nits and comes with a NTSC color gamut of 95%. It is powered by a 2.15 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs in 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128 GB of internal storage (UFS 2.0). The device runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Marshmallow OS.

The Mi 5 Pro rock a 16 megapixel rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), 4-axis OIS. It can shoot 4K videos, comes with DTI pixel isolation technology and Spectra image processing. It comes with a 4 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It support Dual SIM (nano), comes with a fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. It is 7.25 mm thick, weighs 129 grams for the glass variant and 139 grams for the ceramic variant.

On the connectivity front, the Mi 5 Pro comes with 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C and USB OTG. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh built-in non-removable battery under the hood that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. A 5 minute quick charge will offer up to 2.5 hours of talk time.


Also, Mi India has promised to launch the Mi 5 in the country in April, 2016.
