Xiaomi Mi 5 Black color variant to go on sale in India on June 24

Mi India launched the latest flagship model, the Mi 5 in the country at the end of March this year. It went on flash sale exclusively via the official website, initially. Recently, it went on open sale from June 1. Again, starting from June 10, it went on sale on major e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, Tata CLiQ and Snapdeal. However, only the white color variant was available in the country till now.

Starting tomorrow (June 24), the Black color Mi 5 will go on sale in India for Rs 24,999 and will be available on, Amazon India and Flipkart. Also, the Gold color variant is coming soon. Mi India will also officially launch the Xiaomi Mi Max on June 30.


Xiaomi Mi 5 Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 5.15-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LCD display with 2.5D curved protection. It has a brightness of 600 nits and comes with a NTSC color gamut of 95%. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs in 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with 32 GB of internal storage (UFS 2.0), which cannot be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Marshmallow OS. It comes with a 3D glass body with strong glass on the back side.

The Mi 5 rock a 16 megapixel rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), 4-axis OIS. It can shoot 4K videos, comes with DTI pixel isolation technology and Spectra image processing. It comes with a 4 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It support Dual SIM (nano), comes with a fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. It is 7.25 mm thick, weighs 129 grams for the glass variant and 139 grams for the ceramic variant.

On the connectivity front, the Mi 5 comes with 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C and USB OTG. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh built-in non-removable battery under the hood that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. A 5 minute quick charge will offer up to 2.5 hours of talk time.
