The upcoming Xiaomi Max has once again been teased in an official image by the CEO Lei Jun on Weibo ahead of the announcement on May 10, 2016. It shows the slim profile of the massive phablet that comes with an all metal body. A live image of the device was recently spotted as well.
It has also been certified by TENAA in China, which also shows the dual-tone LED flash beside the rear camera, fingerprint sensor below it and curved glass screen on the front. Lets check out the rumoured specifications.
Xiaomi Max Rumoured Specifications
The Xiaomi Max will feature a huge 6.4-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display. It will be powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 (Quad 1.4 GHz ARM A53 + 2 x 1.8 GHz ARM A57) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 510 GPU. It will come with 2 / 3 GB RAM along with 16 / 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It will run MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box.
The Max will rock a 16 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture. It will come with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. It will support Dual SIM (might be hybrid), comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and a fingerprint sensor at the back.
On the connectivity front, the Max will come with 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, GLONASS and USB OTG. There is no information about the battery capacity of the phablet yet, but it could be a massive 5,000 mAh battery under the hood.
The Xiaomi Max phablet will be announced at an event at the China National Convention Center, Beijing on May 10, 2016. We will get to know about all the remaining information in couple of days from now.
