Xiaomi just announced two new flagship devices – the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro but they are not coming to India any time soon. The company launched the Mi 3 last year at an astonishing price of just Rs 13,999 to enter India in grand style. Now, they will be launching the much delayed Mi 4.
The Mi 4 was supposed to launch in India by end of 2014 but that did not happen due to many unfortunate circumstances. Now, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Mi 4 in India on January 28 which will also supposedly go on sale on February 3 exclusively on Flipkart. It will as usual sold via Flash sales and potential buyers need to register to participate in the same.
The Mi 4 coming to India will supposedly come without the 4G LTE support and only the Black colour 64 GB variant will be launched here. The missing LTE version will be a little disappointment since they have launched the Redmi Note 4G and a lot of other devices like YU Yureka and Lenovo A6000 have recently launched in India with 4G LTE support. Although, there is not much of a 4G LTE infrastructure and is only available in selected cities in India, so it should not matter much.
Coming to the pricing, Xiaomi is known to very aggressive and the Mi 4 won’t be any different. We expect the device to be priced around Rs 14,000-16,000 for the Black 64 GB non-LTE variant in India. The device will be unveiled on January 28 at a media event in New Delhi and will be going on sale on February 3.
Xiaomi Mi 4 Specifications

On the camera front, the Mi 4 has a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It has f/1.8 sensor size which is a Sony IMX214 six-element lens. It also has the capability to record 4K videos. On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.8 sensor size and 80-degree wide-angle lens (Sony IMX219), which will result in better selfies and video calling.
