Xiaomi, which is known to be an online exclusive brand in India has forayed into the offline market with the launch of the Redmi 3S Plus. It does have similar specifications if compared to the Redmi 3S Prime but comes with only 2 GB RAM instead of the 3GB RAM found on Prime. It is also priced higher than the Redmi 3S Prime but that is understandable since Xiaomi has to bear the cost of dealers and distributors as well. Xiaomi Redmi 3S Plus Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S Plus features a 5.0-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (Quad 1.5 GHz A53 + Quad 1.2 GHz A53) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 505 GPU. It packs in 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM along with 32 GB of internal storage (eMMC 5.0), which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The Redmi 3S Plus rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), f/2.0 aperture. On the front, it comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. Both the cameras can shoot 1080p Full HD videos. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano/microSD) feature, where the second SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot and comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack. It has a full metal magnesium alloy body, which is 8.5 mm thick and weighs 144 grams. It comes with an Infrared sensor and also packs in a fingerprint sensor.
On the connectivity front, the Redmi 3s Plus comes with 4G with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS and USB OTG. The smartphone packs in a massive 4,100 mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S Plus is available in Dark Grey, Gold and Silver color variants. It has been priced at Rs 9,499 in India and will be sold via the offline retail market. It is now being sold by more than 7,500 retailers starting October 1. It will also be sold via key large format retailers such as Poorvika, Sangeetha, BIG C and LOT mobiles via Xiaomi’s offline distributors – Redington, Innocomm and Just Buy Live.
