As we know, Xiaomi is all set to launch their massive phablet, the Mi Max in India on June 30. It comes in couple of variants – 3GB RAM with 32/64 GB ROM and 4GB RAM with 128GB ROM and was unveiled in China back in May. However, just before the Indian launch, a 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM variant of the device has surfaced online.
It is to be noted that Xiaomi is infamous for launching base model of their premium handsets in India. Recently, the company had launched just the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant of the Mi 5 in India, instead of the higher end variants. However, we cannot blame Xiaomi alone here since most of the smartphones sold in India are priced around Rs 10,000. Hence, if they launch the 2GB RAM variant of the Mi Max, it can be priced closer to the Rs 10,000 range, instead of the Rs 15,000 range for the 3GB RAM variant.
However, we hope Xiaomi launches both the variants and give the Indian customers some freedom to choose and less reason to complain. Check out the specifications of the device below.
