Wileyfox Storm phablet with Cyanogen OS announced for USD 312

Wileyfox, a new entrant in the smartphone market has announced two new mobile devices – the Wileyfox Storm and Swift. The company is based out of UK. Lets check out the specifications of Storm here.


Wileyfox Storm Specifications

The Wileyfox Storm features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has new features like PIN scramble option which will allow you to move the numbers on the keyboard around, Blocked Caller List and granular control that will let you select which apps get access to your personal data.

The Storm comes with a 20 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX220 sensor. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The phablet is 9.2 mm thick and weighs 155 grams. It supports Hybrid SIM where the second SIM slot houses the microSD card, and has a 3.5 mm audio jack along with FM Radio.

The Wileyfox Storm includes 4G LTE (Band: 800/900/1800/2600 MHz), 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 2,500 mAh non-removable battery under the hood.

The Wileyfox Storm is available in Sandstone Black colour and has been priced at £199 (US $312 / INR Rs 20,700 approximately). Consumers can pre-order it from the official website starting this week across Europe and the UK. It will start shipping from October. It will also sell on Amazon, eBay, JD, Souq, Expansys and Clove.

Lenovo-backed ZUK also announced the International variant of ZUK Z1 running on Cyanogen OS that will be available globally from mid-October.
