WhatsApp Web for iPhone starts rolling out

WhatsApp Web was announced for Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and even on Nokia S60 back in January. However, iPhone users could not use it due to ‘Apple’s platform limitations’. Now, we are seeing that WhatsApp Web for iPhone has started rolling out.

WhatsApp Web has just started rolling out for some users and it will take some time to reach every user. However, to access WhatsApp Web from iPhone, we need to open the app, go to Settings and a WhatsApp Web menu option would appear once the feature is live. You can look at the User Interface of WhatsApp Web for iPhone in the screenshot above.

WhatsApp Web is just a web client via the web browser which is an extension of your phone. The web browser will mirror your conversations and messages from your mobile device. This also means, you need to be online on WhatsApp from your mobile as well, in order to access WhatsApp Web.

In order to start WhatsApp Web, open your web browser (works only on Google Chrome, Firefox and Opera) and open this link. There will be a QR code on the website, scan the code inside of WhatsApp and you’re ready to use it on the web. This completes the pairing of WhatsApp Web with the WhatsApp on your phone. Also, as we already said, you need to be connected to the internet on your phone in order for the web client to work.

WhatsApp Calling for iPhone also rolled out late in comparison to Android. The WhatsApp Web for iPhone is also late, but as we say, it’s better late than never.
