WhatsApp Messenger now updated for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

WhatsApp, now owned by Facebook has released an updated iOS update which adds support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

WhatsApp was recently in the news for adding Blue ticks for Read/Seen message which created quite an uproar all over the internet. The company immediately released an update for the Android app which now lets you disable the dreaded Read/Seen Blue ticks. We still cannot disable it on the iOS and Windows app yet and hope it is added as soon as possible.

WhatsApp has been quite slow to update their iOS apps in the past and this time it has been no better. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was launched was September 9 and went on sale on September 19 in 7 countries. After two months, WhatsApp has finally updated its iOS app which now adds support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Lets see whats new in Version 2.11.14

  • add support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
  • fix bugs and crashes

You can update it from the ‘Updates’ section in the App Store  app or download it from here.

As we do not have an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, so do not know how the updated app looks on them. Previously, there were complains that the app looked blown up specially on the iPhone 6 Plus. So we hope its now fully optimsed for both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

We also hope the company soon updates the iOS app which will allow us to disable the dreaded Blue Ticks like the Android counterparts.
