Whatsapp hints the Voice Call feature via screenshot

The social messaging app has more than 600 million active users globally. The messaging service has added End-to-End Encryption in its Android app recently. The number of users is increasing day by day and so is the competition. Whatsapp has previously hinted that they would bring Voice Calling feature to this messaging app. A new screenshot got surfaced which hints that the new feature release is gonna happen soon.

It uses the profile picture of whatsapp along with its name and have few other option like Loud Speaker, Bluetooth Handsfree, Message (probably a Whatsapp message) and Mute option. Apart from that the chat window and the calling window is fully separated. The call window (below) shows the contact name and a Call button right next to it and the list of outgoing and incoming calls below to it.


Whatsapp may also introduce many other options in this call feature. The voice-calling feature is still under the development stage and might roll out in the first quarter of 2015. WhatsApp CEO,  Jan Koum had said in October that the voice calling feature had been delayed till Q1 of 2015 due to some technical difficulties.
