Vivo India has officially launched their latest mid-ranger in the ‘Y series’ named Vivo Y55L. The company has also announced Kent Cheng as the new CEO for its India Operations. He had joined Vivo this year. Lets take a look at the specifications, features and pricing of the Y55L below.
Vivo Y55L Specifications
The Vivo Y55L features a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS 2.5D curved-edge display, that is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (Quad 1.2 GHz + Quad 1.5 GHz) processor along with Adreno 505 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory, which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on FunTouch OS 2.6 out of the box that is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It comes with features like split screen for multitasking and a unique eye protection mode that will ensure comfortable screen brightness by reducing blue light that causes strain on the eyes.
The Y55L comes with a 8 megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with screen flash (similar to Retina Flash on iPhone) for selfies and video calling. It comes with features like Palm Capture and Voice Capture. The smartphone has Dual SIM (micro + nano) support, comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. It is 7.5 mm thick and weighs 142 grams.
The Y55L includes 4G with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,650 mAh battery under the hood.
The Vivo Y55L is available in Space Grey and Gold color variants. It has been priced at Rs 11,980 in India and will go on sale across the country starting from October 15, 2016. Back in August, the company had launched the Vivo Y21L for Rs 7,490.
