VAIO Phone (VA-10J) running on Android 5.0 Lollipop announced for USD 420

VAIO Corporation has announced VAIO Phone (VA-10J) smartphone running Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is the company’s first smartphone in partnership with Japan communication.


The VAIO Phone (VA-10J) has a similar design and along with glass back and also has similar specifications as the Panasonic Eluga U2. It is priced at 51,000 Yen (US $420/ INR Rs 26,290 approximately) and will be available from Japanese carrier b-mobile from March 20, 2015. The smartphone will also be available with two-year contract from the same carrier. Lets have a look at the specifications of the device.

The VAIO Phone (VA-10J) features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS OGS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor with Adreno 306 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

The VAIO Phone comes with a 13 megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash which can shoot Full HD 1080p videos. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is 7.95 mm thick and weighs 130 grams. The smartphone only has single micro SIM support, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio.

The VAIO Phone includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,500 mAh battery under the hood.
