VAIO Phone Biz was officially unveiled this February in Japan. It is now available for purchase in the country, Sony’s home pavilion. The phablet running on Windows 10 has been priced at 59,184 Yen (US $532 / INR Rs 35,500 approximately) on the official website instead of the launch price of 50,000 Yen (US $449 / INR Rs 29,987 approximately). Also, the company has no plans to bring it to the USA and will likely never see the light of the day outside of Japan.
VAIO Phone Biz Specifications
The VAIO Phone Biz features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display that is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 64-bit processor with Adreno 418 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Windows 10 Mobile OS.
The VAIO Phone Biz comes with a 13 megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash which can shoot Full HD 1080p videos. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is 8.3 mm thick and weighs 167 grams. The smartphone only has single micro SIM support and comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.
The VAIO Phone Biz includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 2,800 mAh battery under the hood. It also provides PC-like experience using Continuum for Phones when connected to an external monitor like the flagship Microsoft Lumia smartphones. The VAIO Phone Biz is available in Silver color.
