UMI Iron Pro has been officially announced. It is the latest device from the company that is known for making value for money devices and this one is no surprise either. The company claims it to be the world’s most secure smartphone and it’s priced at only US $179. Lets check out the specifications.
UMI Iron Pro Specifications
The UMI Iron Pro features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display that has a pixel density of 403 ppi. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and has 16 GB of internal memory that can be expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and supports a wide range of custom ROMs like CyanogenMod or MIUI via their UMI Rootjoy feature. The body is made up of aircraft grade aluminium.
The Iron Pro comes with a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with dual LED flash and Sony IMX214 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with OmniVision OV8858 sensor, LED flash and f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. It has a fingerprint sensor at the back that has self-learning algorithm which can store up to five fingerprints and will unlock the phone in just 0.32 seconds with over 99% accuracy, according to the company. You also get an iris scanner called Eyeprint ID that uses the veins of users’ eyes to recognise the user. It is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 148 grams. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano) where the second SIM slot also takes in a microSD card. It also comes with a dedicated headphone amp and also a series of notification lights at the bottom.
The UMI Iron Pro comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB Type-C port as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,100 mAh battery under the hood.
