Toshiba launches first of its kind TransferJet adapter for iDevices

Toshiba has launched first of its kind TransferJet adapter. This adapter follows Close Proximity Wireless Transfer Technology. This device will be compatible with iDevices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod running on iOS 7.1 or higher.

So let us explain you what this device actually does. It is a device built on the TransferJet Consortium, which is a technology that provides simple connections and ultra-high speed data transfers with low power consumption. So it means that any two devices in the close proximity can exchange data. Toshiba claims the maximum data throughput to be 375Mbps. So in practical usage a user can transfer a 100MB data in a matter of 2-3 secs.
To use this TransferJet adapter in an iDevice, user must install TransferJet’s┬ádedicated iOS application. As mentioned earlier, the TransferJet is compatible on iOS 7.1 or higher devices. Toshiba is planning to sell this device in Japan starting from this Spring and will soon start selling it in Europe, Asia and Americas. Though no pricing had been revealed by them.
