TCL Play 2 has been officially launched in China. It is one of the latest budget smartphones by the company being launched today. Lets check out the specifications, features and pricing of the smartphone.
TCL Play 2 Specifications
The TCL Play 2 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD On-Cell IPS display that is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (MSM8952) processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box.
The Play 2 houses a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5P lens and f/2.0 aperture. It can shoot Full HD 1080p videos. On the front, it comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens for your selfies and video calling. The smartphone supports Dual SIM, has a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. It is 8.5 mm thick and weighs 145 grams. It comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back that will unlock the phone in just 0.5 seconds and also an Infrared sensor to control other smart home products.
The Play 2 includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,500 mAh battery under the hood.
The TCL Play 2 is available in White, Cherry Pink and Champagne Gold color variants and has been priced at CNY 899 (US $140 / INR Rs 9,359 approximately). It will go on sale in China by end of December. The company has also announced a cheaper variant of this phone – the TCL Play 2C. It has been priced at CNY 699 (US $109 / INR Rs 7,271 approximately) and can be ordered in China starting from December 10 and will go on sale from December 18.
TCL has also entered the Indian smartphone market today by launching the TCL Pride T500L exclusively on Snapdeal.
