TCL has officially unveiled a budget smartphone and a flagship phablet in China. They are known as TCL 580 and TCL 950, respectively. Lets find out the specifications and features of the budget TCL 580 below.
TCL 580 Specifications
The TCL 580 features a 5.0-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 64-bit processor along with Mali-T860 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box.
The 580 houses a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). It can shoot Full HD 1080p videos. On the front, it comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for your selfies and video calling. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD card), comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and NXP Smart PA amplifier chip. It is 7 mm thick and weighs 135 grams. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor that is embedded into the home button.
The 580 includes 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,460 mAh battery under the hood. There is no USB Type-C port and fast charging support here.
The TCL 580 is available in Silver and Gold color variants. It has been priced at CNY 1399 (US $210 / INR Rs 13,972 approximately). The company has also launched their flagship model, the TCL 950 priced at CNY 3299 (US $495 / INR Rs 32,964 approximately). There is no information on their global roll out yet.
