Spice Android One Dream Uno launched for Rs 6,299 exclusively on Flipkart

Google today officially unveiled Android One, which is an initiative to provide timely automatic updates to low-end devices priced around $100. We have already seen Karbonn Sparkle V and Micromax Canvas A1 and lets now look at the new Spice Android One Dream Uno smartphone powered by Android One launched at the event today. You can purchase the phone here.

Spice Android One Dream Uno, the first Android One smartphone by Spice features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) IPS display which is powered by 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6586 quad-core processor with Mali-400 GPU. It runs on the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The device comes with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.

The Spice Android One Dream Uno has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and occasional video calling. The smartphone is 10.4 mm in thickness and has standard connectivity options like 3G HSPA+. WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. The Dream Uno packs in a 1700 mAh removable battery under the hood. It is a dual SIM phone. All Android One phones have been promised 2 years of software updates and will be one of the first few phones to receive Android L update.

The Spice Android One Dream Uno Mi-498 comes in black and white colour variants and has been priced at Rs 6.299. It will be exclusively available on Flipkart. Flipkart is bundling free pre-selected eBooks worth Rs 1000 on Flipkart eBooks, Rs 1,500 off on purchase through Myntra App, Flat 50% off on Spice Dream Uno flip covers and free Sandisk 8GB memory card. That’s a hell lot of freebies from Flipkart and it looks like a great deal compared to what Amazon and Snapdeal is offering for Micromax Canvas A1 and Karbonn Sparkle V, respectively.
