Sony announced the Xperia Z5 Premium, the first smartphone/phablet with a whopping 4K display at IFA, along with couple of other devices but did not reveal its pricing or availability. Now, we know about its pricing and availability for UK and Europe.
In UK, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium super flagship phablet will officially cost £699 (US $1062 / INR Rs 70,900 approximately). This pricing is according to the official Sony Mobile Store. However, £629 (US $956 / INR Rs 63,800 approximately) is the cheapest price at which the device can be bought starting from November.
Now, talking about the Europe pricing and availability, the Xperia Z5 Premium will be priced at €799 (US $888 / INR Rs 59,300 approximately). It will be available via Amazon Germany and Sony Mobile Store in France, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain and Germany. Lets take a look at the specifications.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a 5.5-inch (3840 x 2160 pixels) 4K Triluminos display with X-Reality for Mobiles. It comes with a pixel density of whopping 806 ppi. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor along with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Xperia launcher on top. It has frosted glass on the back and the Xperia logo has been engraved on the side. The best thing about the 4K display is that Sony has built-in ‘upscale to 4K’ technology which will basically enable the user to watch any content in 4K and take advantage of the gorgeous display.
The Xperia Z5 Premium comes with a 23 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, Sony G lens, Hybrid AF speed of 0.03 second, 5x clear image zoom without loss of quality. It can also shoot 4K videos. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with Exmor R sensor and 25 mm wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 138 grams. The device supports Sony DSEE HX audio technology and has LDAC codec, comes with 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio with RDS. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor (engraved into the home button) and is IPX5 / IPX8 certified for dust and water resistance with hapless USB.
The Xperia Z5 Premium comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, MHL 3.0 and GPS / GLONASS as connectivity options. It rocks a 3,430 mAh battery under the hood with STAMINA mode and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. It supports Dual SIM but that is region dependent. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is available in Gold, Black and Chrome colour variants.
