Sony Xperia X Compact goes on sale in USA

Sony Xperia X Compact was announced at the IFA 2016 in Berlin earlier this month. It went on sale in the UK couple of weeks back and is now available in USA. It can be purchased for $499.99 via Amazon and currently all the three color variants – Universal Black, White and Mist Blue are available.

Sony Xperia XZ, the latest flagship smartphone also announced at the IFA 2016 will go on sale in the US starting from October 2. It has been priced at $699.99. Find out the specifications and features of the Xperia X Compact below.

The Sony Xperia X Compact features a 4.6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Triluminos display, that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 64-bit processor along with Adreno 510 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory, which can also be expanded further up to 256 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Xperia launcher on top of it.

The Xperia X Compact comes with a 23 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS sensor, Predictive Hybrid AF speed of 0.03 second, f/2.0 aperture, 5-axis stabilization. It can record Full HD 1080p videos. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with 1/3.06″ Exmor RS sensor, 22 mm wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It can also shoot 1080p videos. The smartphone is 9.5 mm thick and weighs 135 grams. The device supports Sony DSEE HX audio technology and has LDAC codec, comes with 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio with RDS. It also offers Digital Noise Cancelling and supports Single SIM (nano). It comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button.

The Xperia X Compact comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS / GLONASS as connectivity options. The smartphone rocks a 2,700 mAh battery under the hood with STAMINA mode and supports Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology.
