Sony Xperia M4 Aqua waterproof smartphone announced at MWC 2015

After announcing the Xperia Z4 tablet, Sony has unveiled the Xperia M4 Aqua smartphone which comes with IP65 (waterproof) and IP68 (dust proof) certification. Lets go through the specifications of Xperia M4 Aqua.


Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Specifications

The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display which is powered by 1.5 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 64-bit processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Xperia launcher on top.

The Xperia M4 Aqua comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Exmor RS sensor and can also record Full HD 1080p videos. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with 88-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling, can shoot HD 720p videos. The smartphone is 7.3 mm thick and weighs 140 grams. The device has 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio with RDS.


The Xperia M4 Aqua comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and GPS as connectivity options. It rocks a 2,400 mAh battery under the hood. It is also IP65 and IP68 certified which makes it waterproof and dust proof.

The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua will be available in Black, White, Coral and Silver colour variants and has been priced around 299 Euros (US $334 / INR Rs 20,675 approximately). It will launch in about 80 countries globally on more than 100 carriers around Spring 2015.
