Sony Xperia J1 Compact Phantom Pain Edition has been announced in Japan. It is based on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V game. The normal Xperia J1 was launched back in March. Lets have a look at the specifications.

The Sony Xperia J1 Compact Phantom Pain Edition features a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display which is powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor along with Adreno 330 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS and hopefully will get updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS soon. It has a cool Outer Heaven logo on the back placed between the Sony and XPERIA branding.
The Xperia J1 Compact comes with a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Exmor RS sensor and can also record Full HD 1080p videos. It has a 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 9.7 mm thick and weighs 138 grams.
The Xperia J1 Compact comes with 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and GPS as connectivity options. It rocks a 2,300 mAh battery under the hood. It is also IP58 certified which makes it dust and water-resistant.
As it’s a special edition phone, it comes pre-loaded with digital content like two tracks from the Original game soundtrack as well as custom ringtone and a wallpaper to match the theme. The device will also come with a MGS V art book and an 1000 Yen (US $8) voucher to download MGS novels/comics from the Sony Reader Store.
The Sony Xperia J1 Compact Phantom Pain Edition will go on sale in Japan on September 2, while the Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain releases one day ago (September 1). The special edition smartphone will be sold for 59,800 Yen (US $483 approximately) in Japan.
