Sony Xperia A4 announced in Japan

Sony Xperia A4 has been announced in Japan for NTT Docomo. It is part of their 2015 Summer lineup. The Xperia A4 can be launched as the Xperia Z4 Compact in the global market soon.


Sony Xperia A4 Specifications

The Sony Xperia A4 features a 4.6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) Triluminos display with X-Reality engine. It is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box.

The Sony Xperia A4 comes with a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Exmor RS image sensor along with BIONZ image processing engine. There is a 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 9.1 mm thick and weighs 129 grams.


The Sony Xperia A4 comes with Xi LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 with APT-X, NFC, MHL 3.0 and GPS/GLONASS as connectivity options. It rocks a 2,600 mAh battery with STAMINA mode under the hood. It is also IPX5 / IPX8 and IP6X certified which makes it dust and water-resistant.

The Sony Xperia A4 (SO-04G) is available in Pink, Grey, Blue and White colour variants. It will be sold via NTT Docomo from mid-June 2015. There is no information on the pricing yet. The company has also introduced Xperia Z4 (SO-03G) and Xperia Z4 tablet (SO-05G) for NTT Docomo.
